Accepting these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChartBasis website (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

What the Site provides

ChartBasis presents economic and financial data collected from public sources, free of charge and for general information. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

No financial advice

Nothing on the Site is investment, financial, accounting, legal or tax advice, or an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any security, currency, commodity or other instrument. Do not make decisions based solely on the Site. You are responsible for your own decisions and should consult a qualified professional.

Accuracy of the data

The data comes from third parties and is subject to delay, revision and error, including in our collection, processing and display of it. Forecasts and projections are estimates, not facts, and may prove wrong. We do not guarantee that any figure is accurate, complete or current. Always check the original source before relying on a number.

Data sources and intellectual property

The underlying data belongs to the organisations that publish it and is made available under their own terms, which still apply to you if you reuse it. The design, software and original text of the Site belong to ChartBasis and are protected by copyright. You may view the Site, link to it and quote short extracts with attribution, but you may not copy the Site as a whole or present it as your own.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: interfere with or disrupt the Site or its servers; use automated tools to access the Site in a way that places an unreasonable load on it, or to bypass its limits or protections; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system; use the contact form to send spam or unlawful or abusive content; or use the Site in violation of any law. We may block access for anyone who does. The Site offers no API or data feed: the data addresses its pages call are for those pages, and you agree not to read them from other programs.

Contacting us

You can reach us through the contact page. We will try to respond, but we do not promise a reply or a particular response time, and we are under no obligation to act on suggestions.

The Site may link to third-party websites, including the sources of our data. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChartBasis and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, or any investment or trading loss, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or from reliance on its content. Because the Site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and ChartBasis agree that any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

These Terms were written in English. Translations are provided for convenience, and the English version prevails if they differ.
